I got tired of my plastic reels breaking every few months. This one is definitely more solid and though I have only used it for a few weeks now, suspect it will last much longer. The downside is it is larger and heavier and the clip, since it is heavier gauge metal, is harder to clip on to some of my belts. However, it is a good trade-off for the strength. I think it could have been made a little smaller, thus the 4 stars. I carry on it an ID badge, couple of keys and security fob.
